Event: Fiesta for the Arts: Booming Buffalo!
When: Sat, May 5 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Description: * * * * Not an official event but some Pyromancy members will be spinning near the outdoor dj area with other local Buffalo Hoopers from 3-5pm! * * * * Give for Greatness Second Annual Fiesta for the Arts at the Burchfield-Penney Art Gallery, featuring: Dance performances from Lehrer Dance and Configuration Dance Musical performances by Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Andrew J. Reimers and the Country Punk Extravaganza, On the Sly, Buffalo Soundpainting Ensemble, Unit III, The Rockaz, Like a Panther, Clandestina Cosmica, DJ Cutler, Jen Whitmore, and The Musn’ts. Theater performance by Peace of the City. Also, roaming theatrical, musical and dance performances, a community mural, raffles, bar and food trucks, hula hoopers, interactive dance lessons, historical photo ops and a pinata contest. Event: The Cogs & Coils Cabaret Steampunk Event
When: Sat, May 12 9:00 pm – Sun, May 13 4:00 am Description: Your Guests of Honour, Dr. Sik, Miss Noir and Lady Zagon would like to extend an invitation for you to attend: The Cogs & Coils Cabaret Steampunk Event and Mini-Con!!! This is an event not to be missed! Whether you are already part of the Steampunk community, curious about the Steampunk aesthetic, or just interested in learning to create awesome props, this event is sure to have something for everybody. Steampunk attire is not required, but is much appreciated! The Airship will be docked at: The Forvm, 4224 Maple Road, Amherst/Buffalo, NY 14226 Beverages of the alcoholic persuasion will be served in The Library and The Iris. On Our Main Stage: Live Band Performance by: Chloroform Coulier Chloroform Coulier is a three piece band based out of Buffalo, NY that combines elements of progressive jazz, old school heavy metal, east coast punk, and classical music. They will be tailoring their set to fit within the theme of the evening. ——————————————————— Along With The Side-Show featuring: Cabaret & Belly Dance Performances by: The Hell’s Harlots!! The Hell’s Harlots are unlike other burlesque group. Most American style troupes will perform a striptease, go down to almost nothing. Their burlesque troupe wants to give you the experience of a vintage cabaret show. Their shows include comedy acts, live music, skits, and choreographed cabaret and belly dance style dance. ———————————————————- LED Baton and Hoop/Multi-Hoop performance and Object Manipulation by: PYROMANCY!! Pyromancy is Buffalo’s premier fire performance troupe! For this performance they will not spinning or breathing fire, but rather putting on a LED objects side show performance showcasing the same talents as they would if their objects were on fire. ———————————————————- Waltz the night away to Steampunk inspired music throughout the night by DJs: DJ Th’Elf- Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Th’Elf has been spinning across Canada and the US for nearly 30 years. Mixing tradgoth, industrial, ebm and more into a coherent set, he’s completely focused on the dancefloor energy and bringing the best blend of sounds to whatever event he’s playing.
